We're supposed to tell 40 things about ourselves & post a current picture. Then tag 3 others to do the same.
So here goes...
- I am a control freak.
- I love garlic, all things garlic, I grow garlic and put garlic on darn near everything. I love the garlic festival every year and have even eaten garlic ice cream.
- I have chronic sinus problems - which is more than likely why I cannot smell the garlic oozing out of my pores.
- I adore reading. I will read anything and everything. I prefer literature, but will go for the occasional light read. I think I have read every book on dogs available.
- For some reason I am a speed reading freak. I can read a book in one evening & still retain almost every word years later - repeat paragraphs verbatim. Weird huh?
- I was married before - he was an idiot. His long standing nick name is SFB (acronym for Sh*t for Brains) Wisely I divorced him and upgraded.
- My second husband, John, is wonderful. I got the best end of this deal. Not only is he tall dark & handsome, but the dogs love him and he loves our dogs. I met him on the Internet. Match.com - Yep.... really.
- I have virulent green eyes. Not a speck of another color in them.
- I am a Virgo
- I hate pork and truly cannot stand eating beef.
- I spent several years in the USAF Nurse Corp.
- That brings me to the fact that I used to be a nurse. I quit.
- I was a stay at home mom for 10 years. To augment our crappy Army pay - I started painting and selling my paintings - later I taught painting to wives on the army posts & later nationally through the society of decorative painters.
- When a publisher saw my work they offered me a three book contract & I designed and wrote three painting books which were sold internationally. The last one was printed in 2001. Nothing since - the bottom fell out of the market & I had to go back to work full time. Now I paint for fun rather than profit (when I have time to paint).
- I love to sew
- My husband and I have five kids between us. My three (Amy 21, Jake 17, Zach 15) & John's three (Evan 13, Grace 10).
- My ex-husband was career Army Special Forces & a Geographical Bachelor - we were married longer than we should have been. The only reason why we stayed married for so long was because he was only home for about 60 days a year. Right about the time I wanted him to die....he would deploy YEEHAW!
- My hair is over 50% grey and I have finally decided to quit coloring it.
- My first USAF tour was at the Regional Medical Center, Wiesbaden Germany . It used to be a Nazi hospital. We used to play terrible tricks on the new Airmen in the tunnels below the hospital. It has since been closed and turned back over to the Germans.
- I loved living in North Carolina. I never wanted to leave. My youngest son was born at Fort Bragg. I wanted to die there... I was dragged kicking and screaming back to Ft Lewis, WA.
- Now I am an accountant at a large engineering firm.
- I can play the piano
- My favorite meal is Salmon, baked taters and salad
- My first car was a mustang
- I marched in Drum and Bugle Corp when I was in high school. That is how I spent my summer, riding on a tour bus all over the US marching in competitions ending at DCI International.
- I have been in every state in the US and every province in Canada. Most on a tour bus...the rest driving through with everything we own in a U-Haul doing what the military called a DITY move. I call it Divorce In Two Years.
- Some of my favorite movies are: Murphy's Romance, Overboard, I am David & To End All Wars.
- I almost met my maker at the hands of a bad taxi driver in Wiesbaden. I was in a horrible car accident that came very close to killing me (my car was T-boned by the taxi).
- I am terrified of Balloons. They pop and make loud noises which scares the crap out of me.
- I also hate confetti. I have an irrational fear that I will inhale it.
- Surprise - I hate birthday parties. Who knows why (balloons and confetti maybe?). My poor children didn't get many when they were growing up. Guess I had a bad experience at a birthday party somewhere along the line.
- I dislike coffee but I love tea.
- I love hard apple cider. One local brewery offers it and I will drive miles out of my way just to buy some. Yummy delicious.
- I love to cook
- I entered my jam in the fair one year and won best jam.
- I entered a painting in the fair one year and came in second place, another piece took honorable mention.
- I really dislike eggs, but I love chickens.
- When I was 16 I was caught shoplifting with my friend when she dared me to slip a package of blush in my shorts. I never stole anything ever again. To this day I am scared to go into that store.
- I conned my brother to pee on the electric fence when I was little. To this day he says it never happened. But I clearly remember him running & screaming all the way back to the house - with is wee wee hanging out of his drawers.
- I hate the smell of cigarette smoke
Current picture - this was taken a few days ago. The puppy is our foster dog Tyler. No need to see the rest of me. It would frighten small children.
Now I am tagging three others to do the same
Raising Addie
Holly - Zac & Their Adventures
Dig-it, Fetch-it, Herd-it
