Siblings

The puppy pictures have been few and far between because I have been careful about who Bea plays with and have not taken her anywhere she could possibly be exposed to Parvo etc.  I have been there, and done that once before (Brynn).  NEVER AGAIN!    Until she gets her second vaccination - I am not taking any risks.  The only place we visited was Cindy's house so I could hang out with another human &  let Bea meet her brother. 

Briggs is from the Bett/Riggs litter prior to Bea's.   He is just shy of a year old. 

"Who me?"

Briggs spots Bea standing at Cindy's feet....Bea is not too sure. 

"Aaaaaah you look SCARY!  I don't know you....! I am safe here between Cindy's legs!"

 "Camera Face!  SAVE ME!"

"Hmmmm...girl puppy butt.  Must smell."

Brynn tells Briggs to be nice to 'her' puppy. 

"Wanna play with my Skinny?"

"Here, put it in your mouth and PULL!"

"You pull hard for a weak little girly girl!"

"What did I say? Come back!"

Brynn says "DON'T YOU PICK ON MY PUPPY!"

Briggs says "AWWWWWWW SH*T!"

"You better share your Skinny with my puppy NICELY!!"

"Hey Bea, wanna play with the Skinny again?  I will be nice...I promise"

"So, I hear you are my sister?  Really?  Tell me, how is Mom?  She is doing real good I hear.  How many more brothers and sisters do I have?   Do they all know I am the BEST?  Well, other than Fame.  He is cool & he is a BOY like me.  Boys are better than girls....." 

"Aaaaaaagh!  Where did SHE come from?  I was being NICE I swear!"

"Gimme the Skinny you stupid boypup, I will show you what a girl can do.  She can KICK YOUR ASS!"

"Ah ha!  Got it...."

"Here you go, Bea!  I got the Skinny for you!"

"Thank you Auntie Brynn!"

"Girls win, boys dim....no, that ain't it.  Girls mule, boys moo?  Nope, still ain't right.  Let me think....Girls RULE!  Boys eat poop!  Hee, hee, hee....good enough!"

Does Briggs get his Skinny back?  Find out tomorrow when the story continues....hopefully my imagination will kick back in and you will get something a little more witty than the juvenile text as seen above. 

Briggs, Brill & Sheep

Remember my friend Cindy's puppy Briggs?  This was the puppy I was going to steal.  But she threatened me with death & dismemberment so I let her keep him.

A few weeks later I shot this picture of him with Cindy..

Today he looks like this.  My how he has grown.  One day he will grow into those ears. 

Such a handsome little guy.

Cindy has been doing a lovely job with him. Socializing and loving on him.  He is a happy well adjusted pup.

When Dianne was here last month she put Briggs on sheep.  Since the sheep are hair sheep and very light she used an older dog to keep the sheep together & settled, allowing the Briggs to succeed.  We all had so much fun watching this little guy turn on.  It was a blast!   Dianne left Cindy with instructions to put him on sheep once a month, nothing stressful, just exposure.

Last night we got to have fun again.  I went out into the field and sat down with my camera.  Cindy used her other dog Brill to hold them together.

He is very thoughtful about the sheep, what he was doing & engaged.

Until he saw me sitting on the ground.  Uhhhohhhhh INCOMING!

Then Brill decided to face off a ewe that was being a royal pain in the arse.  Sometimes they just need a little attitude adjustment.

And sometimes the dog provides you with an opportunity to deliver a stern correction.  Always a chance to learn. 

Oh boy...I predict a learning experience just ahead.

No sheep were harmed during the making of this blog post.

And neither were any dogs. Brill was none the worse for wear.  The bell ringing he got hopefully will stick in his head for a while. 

Briggs was a happy dog and the session ended on a positive note for him. 

I was uber happy because I got some awesome shots!

Now off for the weekend to Lacamas Valley Sheep Dog Trial where I am first on the wait list for Novice/Novice with Beth, second with Brynn.  Keep your fingers crossed someone scratches and we get to run!

Puppy Play Date

Last week Vicki and I stopped by Cindy's house to see the new puppy.

Remember him?  I was going to steal him, but Cindy scared me out of it.  She said she was going to skin me alive and make a lamp shade from my hide - if I didn't bring him home.  So, out of fear of taxidermy John and I picked the puppy up from Dianne Deal and delivered him to our violent 'friend' Cindy.  

Mr puppy is from Dianne's Bett & Riggs (click on their names for information on each). 

Cindy named him Briggs, in honor of his parents B-for Bett and Riggs for...well, you know...Riggs. 

Meet Briggs. 

Briggs is a determined little guy and ahhh so adorable.  

We are going to watch Briggs grow up with Vicki's puppy Jynx.
